Current volunteering vacancies:

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant 

Darnall Dementia Group needs kitchen assistants on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays 12 –3pm to help receive our meal delivery, check food temperatures and get everything ready for lunchtime service at 1pm. Then there is a lot of pot washing to do before the meal trays are collected after lunch! The role is based at our day centre for people living with dementia at St Albans Church, Chapelwood Road, Darnall. Travel expenses paid.

Volunteer Day Centre Worker 

Darnall Dementia Group needs volunteer Day Centre Workers on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays 10am –3.30pm to work with the staff team to provide a stimulating and fun experience for people living with dementia, who attend our day centre. Volunteers can get involved in a range of fun activities which might include: 

Chatting with our members, reminiscing, companionship 

Reading or looking at books together 

Making jigsaws or doing puzzles together 

Playing board or target games 

Playing ball games and gentle physical exercises 

Crafting, dressing up 

Listening to music, singing and dancing 

Accompanying members on short walks around the area or looking at and working in the garden 

Light cleaning duties/making areas covid safe/making drinks and serving snacks 

Any other fun and appropriate activities you fancy trying with the group! 

The role is based at our day centre for people living with dementia at St Albans Church, Chapelwood Road, Darnall.  Travel expenses are paid and volunteers can eat a free hot lunch with us.

Volunteer Minibus driver 

Could you drive a 14 seater, fully accessible, minibus and provide a really important service to people in the community?  The role will, for example, include transporting elderly and disabled people to and from lunch clubs and day centres including Darnall Dementia Group.  

We will provide you with the training necessary to carry out your tasks safely and efficiently and endeavour to offer you a variety of activities to make sure your time is rewarding and enjoyable. 
 
Meal and Travel expenses paid.
